Almost 2.8 million Ukrainian pensioners continue to work

In Ukraine, about 2.8 million pensioners continue to work, which is approximately 28% of the total number of pension recipients, Opendatabot reports with reference to data from the Pension Fund.

The average pension of a working pensioner as of July 1, 2026 was UAH 7,994. This is approximately UAH 721, or 10%, more than the average pension payment in the country - UAH 7,272.68.

The preservation of a significant number of working pensioners is connected with both the need for additional income and the shortage of workers in the Ukrainian market labor.

Pensions for working citizens can be recalculated taking into account the additionally acquired insurance experience. Automatic recalculation in 2026 was carried out for persons who, after the previous appointment or pension recalculation, acquired the necessary insurance experience.
