As reported by Open4Business, Kyiv leads among the regions of Ukraine in terms of operating companies that declare zero income for at least two years in a row or do not fill in the relevant indicator of financial reporting.
According to Opendatabot, 15,078 such companies are registered in the capital, which is almost 29% of the total number in the country.
In total, there are 52,202 operating commercial companies in Ukraine that have submitted reports with zero or with unfilled income.
Dnipropetrovsk region is in second place with 3,998 companies, or about 8% of the total number. 3,663 similar enterprises are registered in Kharkiv Oblast, 3,471 in Odesa.
Thus, only Kyiv and the three largest oblasts account for more than half of all companies in the country that have not shown income in financial statements for a long time.
Every fourth company from the researched group has been in this state for three years in a row, and 4,600 enterprises have not shown income for five years.
The most common organizational and legal form among such enterprises remains the LLC — they account for 42,383 companies, or 81% of the sample.
According to Opendatabot, one of the reasons for the preservation of legally active, but actually inactive enterprises remains the complexity of the liquidation procedure. In addition, part of the companies could suspend their work due to war, loss of production capacity or sales markets.
