The export of Ukrainian IT services in January-August 2026 increased by 4% compared to the same period last year — up to $4.46 billion, according to the data of the National Bank of Ukraine analyzed by the Experts Club.
In terms of foreign currency earnings, the sector actually returned to the indicators of the corresponding period of 2023, but still did not reach the maximum values of 2022.
In in January-August 2022, the volume of IT exports was approximately 9% higher than the current figure.
Thus, the dynamics of recent years can be divided into two periods: after the record year of 2022, Ukrainian IT exports began to decline, and in 2026 they show growth again.
The importance of IT for the entire Ukrainian service sector remains particularly important. In the eight months of 2026, Ukraine exported $10.9 billion in services, which is approximately 6% more than the corresponding period last year.
IT accounted for 41% of this amount, that is, more than $4 out of every $10 received by Ukraine from the export of services.
On the scale of all foreign trade, the share of the sector also remains significant. Cumulative exports of goods and services for January-August amounted to $35.8 billion, of which $4.46 billion was provided by IT companies and specialists.
As a result, the share of IT is about 12% of the country's total exports — about one in eight dollars of export revenue.
If the current pace is maintained, the sector may end 2026 with the best result in the last few years, but to return to record indicators In 2022, the growth rate should accelerate.
