Production of machinery and equipment in Ukraine from January to September 2026 increased by 36.5% compared to the same period in 2025, making it one of the highest growth rates among industrial sectors, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (Derzhstat) reported on 3 November.
According to the agency, a significant positive trend was also recorded in the production of computers, electronic and optical products, where output volumes grew by 17.1%.
Meanwhile, the production of electrical equipment saw a decrease of 17.8%, indicating uneven dynamics in different segments of the machinery industry.
Positive results over nine months were also demonstrated by enterprises in the food and chemical industries. Food production increased by 2.8%, and chemical production by 2.7% compared to the same period in 2025.
Growth in machinery and electronics occurred against the backdrop of an overall decline in industrial production in Ukraine by 1.9% over nine months.
Meanwhile, in September 2026 industrial production decreased by 9.2% compared to September of the previous year after falling by 6.1% in August.
Thus, enterprises specializing in the production of machinery, equipment and electronic products are demonstrating significantly better results than industry as a whole.
At the same time, the indices presented reflect changes in the physical volumes of production compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and do not allow the absolute value of the output products or their share in the total industrial production to be determined without additional data.
As reported, industrial production in Ukraine decreased by 2025% in 1.7 , while it grew by 2024% in 4.7.
Data is provided without taking into account temporarily occupied territories and parts of territories where combat operations are ongoing or have taken place.
