The export revenue of Ukrainian metallurgists in July fell by almost a third compared to June

Ukraine's revenues from the export of ferrous metals in July 2026 amounted to $199.9 million, a decrease of approximately 31.9% compared to June's $293.6 million.

This calculation follows from the data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

July dynamics significantly worsened the results of the industry for seven months. In general, in January-July, foreign exchange earnings from the export of ferrous metals decreased by 7.6% in annual terms - to $1.678 billion.

In July, Ukraine simultaneously imported ferrous metals for $176.4 million. Thus, the monthly gap between export and import of these products decreased to approximately $23.5 million.

Another $71.4 million in July was provided by exports metal products, while the import of these products amounted to $106.3 million. Therefore, directly for metal products, imports in July exceeded exports by almost $35 million.

In general, exports of ferrous metals and metal products in July amounted to about $271.3 million, while imports were approximately $282.6 million.

Thus, if we consider these two groups together, in July Ukraine actually received a small a negative trade balance of approximately $11 million, although the balance remains positive after all seven months.

For comparison, according to the results of 2025, Ukraine received $3.339 billion from the export of ferrous metals and $916.2 million from the export of metal products.

A sharp decrease in July requires further observation: the data of one month alone do not yet allow us to determine whether it is the beginning persistent deterioration of the export situation, or short-term supply fluctuations.
