The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecasts sunflower oil exports from Ukraine in the 2026/27 marketing year at the level of 5 million tons, which is almost 24% higher than the figure of the previous season — 4.036 million tons.
According to the September USDA Oilseeds: World Markets and Trade report, the production of sunflower oil in Ukraine is expected at the level of 5.418 million tons against 4.515 million tons in 2025/26 MR, that is, about 20% more.
At the same time, the domestic consumption of sunflower oil is forecast to be relatively stable — 470 thousand tons against 455 thousand tons in the previous season. USDA estimates final stocks at 213,000 tons versus 265,000 tons. Thus, most of the increase in production can be directed specifically to foreign markets.
Ukraine will remain one of the two largest global exporters of sunflower oil. USDA forecasts deliveries to Russia at the level of 5.1 million tons, Ukraine — 5 million tons, Argentina — 2.05 million tons, Turkey — 1.1 million tons, and the EU — 850,000 tons.
Total global sunflower oil exports USDA estimates at 15.968 million tons compared to 13.51 million tons in the previous season.
