Gasoline imports from Germany to Ukraine decreased by 13% in August

As reported by Open4business, in January-August 2026 Ukraine imported 1.12 million tons of automobile gasoline, which is 16% more than in the same period of 2025, the A-95 Consulting Group reported based on the results of a special market study.

At the same time, in August, gasoline imports amounted to 152,000 tons, which is 7% less than in August last year.

Lithuania and Poland remain the main suppliers of gasoline to Ukraine. In August, 51.8 thousand tons of fuel were imported from Lithuania, or 34% of total imports, from Poland - 40.1 thousand tons, or 26%.

Thus, the combined share of the two countries reached 60% against 55% a year earlier.

The ORLEN group, which owns oil refineries in Lithuania and Poland, remains the largest source of imported gasoline. In August, the companies of the group shipped 78,800 tons of gasoline to Ukraine, which is 52% of all import deliveries for the month.

Imports from Germany in August decreased by 13% to 18,200 tons. Of this volume, 11.2 thousand tons, or 61.5%, fell on the UPG network.

In "A-95" they note that the reduction of August supplies is connected, in particular, with high transitional fuel reserves formed earlier.

Ukrainian oil market, after losing a large part of its own processing as a result of a full-scale war, remains largely dependent on imports from countries EU. The main volumes of gasoline and diesel fuel come via the western and southern directions
