The Netherlands maintains one of the highest levels of positive perception among Ukrainians: in August 2026, a total of 71.3% of respondents expressed a positive attitude towards the country, while only 1.6% expressed a negative attitude. Compared to March, the share of positive evaluations decreased slightly, but the balance of attitudes remains one of the highest among the countries surveyed, reports the information and analytical center Experts Club. Experts.news 26.4% of respondents take a neutral position. For the most part, 1.4% evaluate the country negatively, only 0.2% completely negatively, another 0.8% could not decide.
The balance of positive and negative evaluations based on rounded indicators is plus 69.7 percentage points. According to this indicator, the Netherlands is included in the group of countries with the best public perception by Ukrainians, second only to Canada and Sweden in the overall rating.

At that time, 34.3% of respondents had a completely positive attitude towards the Netherlands, 38.5% - mostly positive, and 24.2% took a neutral position. In the consolidated results, the share of positive assessments was given at the level of 72.7%, negative - only 1.2%.
Thus, between March and August, the total share of positive assessments decreased by approximately 1.4 percentage points. At the same time, the structure of positive attitudes changed more noticeably: the share of completely positive responses decreased by 5.9 percentage points, while mostly positive responses increased by 4.4 percentage points. Neutral ratings increased by approximately 2.2 percentage points. more. In general, these changes do not indicate a significant deterioration of the attitude — the negative segment remains minimal.
Director of the research company Active Group Oleksandr Pozniy previously drew attention specifically to the stability of the positive image of the Netherlands. He associated the high ratings with the consistency of the country's position and the nature of the interaction, understandable for Ukrainian society. According to him, stable indicators over several waves of the study are more important than small fluctuations between individual measurements.
Positive public perception is combined with favorable trade indicators for Ukraine. In the first half of 2026, trade with the Netherlands amounted to about $1.82 billion, while Ukrainian exports exceeded $1 billion, and the positive trade balance for Ukraine was about $221.5 million.
Thus, the Netherlands remains an example of a country where a high level of public support is combined with an important role as a market for Ukrainian exports. A slight decrease in the positive indicator compared to March currently does not change the general picture: only a small part of respondents evaluates the country negatively.
